Are marks accurate?
From my experience tutoring I don't think that marks are accurate. Many of my students have demonstrated a clear sense of understanding material but their test results don't elicit what I think their proper mark should be. Many of my students suffer from text anxiety in math and unfortunately, marks are usually the case to why they suffer. When they enter a test, they freeze up and draw blanks not knowing what to do. On the contrary, when they work at home they are able to tackle problems confidently and these test marks don't represent them well.
